Firmware Bug Fixed in Kubuntu Update
Kernel Version 516 Resolves Issue with ACPI Region Coverage
Background
Some users of the Kubuntu distribution experienced a firmware bug when booting their computers. This bug was caused by kernel version 500 and resulted in the following error message: "tpm_crb MSFT010100 Firmware bug ACPI region does not cover. Mem 0368867 acpi MSFT010100. ACPI region does not cover the entire commandresponse buffer.."
Solution
The issue has been resolved in kernel version 516. Users who are experiencing this bug are advised to update their kernels to the latest version. To do this, open a terminal window and enter the following commands:
sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade
Once the update is complete, restart your computer and the bug should be resolved.
Additional Notes
This bug was specific to kernel version 500 and does not affect other versions of the kernel. Users who are not experiencing this bug do not need to update their kernels.
